What's a spur of the moment decision you made that ended up affecting your life drastically?

I'm a very shy person, that before this had almost no friends. Then one time one complete whim, I wrote someone that I saw had a lot in common with me, to hopefully strike up a friendship. That was almost seven years ago, and to this day we're best friends. My life have drastically improved for the better, from sitting in my room with no one to talk to to being a lot more outgoing, to even visiting her a few times.
