People who took a spur of the moment trip, how did it go and what sparked it?

I was just getting into the workforce I Florida when the economic crisis hit. I had dropped out of school and finding a job was nearly impossible. I had a little over $400 in savings. I made the decision to move and bought a one-way ticket to Alaska (a place I had always wanted to go) within that same week. It was the best choice of my life. Really broke down that barrier of uncertainty that a lot of people feel when facing sudden big decisions. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Also I found a job soon after landing. No looking up Craigslist or Indeed. I just walked into a few places and was hired.
