Gah! I've had it with cheap all-in-one printers designed solely to rip me off. Can anyone recommend a printer/company that isn't out to ink-rape me?

I have a Canon MP560, have had it for a while with no issues. Scans/Prints over wifi with no hassles. It has a separate black for printing normally and printing photos (Photo black is a warmer tone). One down side is that it takes a little time to warm up once you turn it on. Other than that, I'd recommend it, best printer I've owned.

I bought a refurbished Epson color laser all-in-one, and the included toner has lasted me 5 years. Pretty sure it conforms to all your requirements.
kodak seems extremely cheap to buy ink for. My dad had one for a while and it was OK though every time you tried to print in draft bits occasional lines would look... italicy, i guess.
I like laser. Yes the toner is expensive, but I feel they last a lot longer than ink.
Get a laser printer for standard printing and use the inkjet for photos and color printing only.
Brother printers. They are the shit. Their laserjets are particularly good.
Samsung Laser
Canon printers print b&w even when one color cartridge is out of ink. HOWEVER, you need to push a button to make it print. There will also be a message on your screen and printing will not start unless you push a button on the printer. (At least that's how it is with the 5000 pixma series)
