Of course it is. They can accept donations from anyone. All money pays, and the NGO can use that money to help the environment. When it goes wrong is if the NGO is getting that donation in return for certain treatment of the companies. Like if an oil company donates, and then the NGO no longer protests an oil pipeline or something. That is clear corruption. But if the donation is just money like any other, and the NGO is free to pursue all their endeavors as if the donations were all anonymous? Then it is fine. Money is money.

It's hardly an ethical question for the NGO if you believe in your work, take the money. The NGO is probably underfunded and every industry that exists destructive in some way. Even if their destruction far outweighed your conservative efforts, a little displacement never hurt.

"When NGOs accept donations, these usually (almost always) come with a requirement to list corporate sponsors on their webpage. The industries usually (probably always) expect recognition for their efforts to "save the environment". It's referred to as 'greenwashing' in the conservation sector. "

Of course.
