Young men , please explain as respectfully as you can to a middle-aged woman, why so many of you appear to have a kneejerk reaction to anything that smacks of feminism?

"19/W feminist here. I don't agree with a good portion of "white feminism", which tends to silence/degrade women of color and often ignores cultural differences (e.g. pressuring Muslim women into not wearing hijab for the sake of "liberation"). Trans-exclusionary feminist ideology, feminists that ignore low-income people, and feminists that ignore disabled people also rustle my jimmies. Feminism is supposed to support all women. That being said, I still ID as a feminist, with some conditions. The condition for women in most of the world is not the same as that in the U.S. or Europe. Children are still being married off to much older men, female genital mutilation is still a common practice, and there is still a stigma against single motherhood in most parts of the world. We tend to ignore this in the U.S. because it doesn't immediately impact us, but that doesn't mean the issues have been completely resolved. EDIT: formatting "

Most feminist today do not seem to seek equality but more then equal. They want positive role models for women but fantasy for men. They want equal pay but they also want paid maternity leave. They want no violence toward women ever but dont mind taylor swift breaking guys arms. They want strong girl images but dont care if most guys are either creeps or morons. Male 38 years old. I will give you equality but I will not take less.

On average we get the higher paying jobs and some of us get more respect professionally than a woman would get with equal skills but on the other hand we are less trusted in daily life, we have it far more difficult to get and maintain a social life or a relationship and we are seen as worthless trash the minute we fail in our professional lives. 22 y.o here. Personally i find feminists to be very unfair, hypocritic, generalizing and borderline refuse to accept the fact that us boys too have problems. Fuck that!

"Because "classic" feminism has run its course. Women have the vote. Women have access to no fault divorce. Women can apply for any job a man can. Modern feminism is no longer about equality of opportunity regardless of gender it's about misandry, welfare, unequal access to children and affirmative action. It's now a sexist anti-male movement.
