US Airways stole my camera with private photos on it, now they won't help.

Didn't Clark Griswold teach you anything? I don't know what you were thinking, walking around with a camera that had such intimate pictures on it. You should have put that data somewhere safe shortly after taking the photos. Retrieving the camera isn't the big deal to you, and having to admit that you have pictures of your wife might compromise you even further. You might have to cut your losses on the SD card, even if you get your camera back.

That sucks big time. I did a lot of flying a few years ago and was always nervous about putting anything valuable in with my checked luggage. I always packed my camera into my back pack and took it on to the plane. Once I brought my XBox onto the plane in my back pack. I thought for sure that was going to cause some sort of issue with security, but they let me right through without even looking at it.

Contact consumerist.com. I would also look into taking this to small claims court. The second U.S. Air is served with the papers they will probably call you and try to resolve this. The cost of the airline sending someone to your local court is far greater than the cost of them paying what they owe.

I honestly don't know why the entire baggage process isn't covered by surveillance. There should be no reason this isn't done. I don't know why people aren't screened to/from the baggage areas?

9:30am, on the phone with US Airways now- can not get a number for customer relations, but have managed to get the second ticket refunded.

I would not have left the plane without my checked bag, they could have called security and put me in Gmo for all I care. But looks like you are screwed , whoever was on board probably stole it
