What is the Falcon Rooting System (Custom UI/Software?) And how does it work?

"I recently acquired a phone with unlimited service. It seems to have been rooted, and upon restarting the device some serious matrix looking sh** comes up followed by the words "FALCON ROOTING SYSTEM." Those words, along with what I can only assume is the the root download menu, are slightly burned into the screen. I'm eager to learn about how it works "
