Don't talk to them again, contact your lawyer and file a suit against them. Your proof is that lease, and you have substantial evidence to prove they went against it. If you leave simply because the woman told you you could, you could be liable for breaking the contract.

Landlords have a responsibility to pay for any repairs needed on a property. These guys are being assholes.
