Help, how would one who just purchased a new house for the first time set up utilities? What kind of. Utilities? Does water service to be activated? Trash removal?

The city will probably be the water utility provider, and they usually include trash with that bill (and provide you the right trash can and recycle bins). You might need to confirm with realtor or new neighbors who the electric company is, since some cities have more than one, that us determined by where you are located within the city. Does the new house have natural gas? Because that will be a different company. Sometimes gas companies will let you immediately sign up for levelized billing based on previous usage at that address. I suggest doing that if you can so you don't have the big bill fluctuations between season. Electric usually makes you wait a year before you can do levelized billing. You will probably have multiple options for cable and internet, so just do your research on which option has the best service in your area.

This is all dependent upon where you live, but there should be a county or municipal office in your area that could help you out.
Thanks everyone! I'm relocating in Harrisburg PA. I will Def try to call them Monday and get this straighten out considering I move in Wed . Whoops. Any advice for first time home owner is also greatly appreciated!
You can build a water heater in the water. Source: I live in the US.
Yay you! Congrats! I dunno, my wife did all that when we bought our first home. But good luck!
Call 311 or whatever your city information line is. Or check the city website. There will be a guide for new homeowners.
go to your local city/township/county website and look for utilities info. water, trash, electricity, gas, cable/internet. also, get homeowners insurance asap.
The realtor who I purchased the house through, provided me with a list of service providers for all the necessary utilities and such. I was able to call them all and get everything started in only a couple of hours. If not, call the local mayor's office, and they can point you in the right direction.
A lot depends on where you live. You would have to have electricity and water turned on which is usually just calling whatever company in your area handles it and setting up an account and deciding on an activation date. Also usually a deposit is required. You shouldn't have to call anyone about trash removal as that's pretty much automatic as long as there's already a trash can there to put on the curb. Paying for it though depends on your location. Where I live now, I don't have any charge for it, but another place I lived would fine you if you didn't place your garbage can out every week. Also usually garbage and sewage is sent in a bill together. Of course you would also have to set up things like cable and internet if you want to have those.
After you buy the house, you can ask the seller to restart the utilities. Or you can go to the utility centers and tell them to restart it. Also yes, water needs to be activated. And yes, the trash removal needs to be paid for too.
