Life questions like that...comes down to this: Do you want to know? Will knowing satiate some need to know for you. Some people need to know why. Why has been a question that usually will plague you. If you are ok with not knowing why. Then don't bother...but why did this happen. Why? For me - the not ok. I personally need to know. I've never had something like that happen to me. So it's really up to you. You aren't opening your life to him, just getting some information from the guy. Or at least get their side of the story so you can guess what really happened.

Whatever you end up doing, just remember that people are just people. Your parents are people just like you, and they don't make decisions any better than anyone else would just because they are your parents.
