Pedophilia can be traced back by events during childhood, but with research in such an issue being further delved into we're coming to an agreement albeit slowly that a person can be born as a pedophile. What are your thoughts on this and how do you think it would impact society?

Some have claimed they were born pedos but have not acted upon their urges. I still wouldn't let them around my child. A few months ago someone (estranged family) invited me and my kid to come visit and hang out at a pool party, I think forgetting their son molested/raped me when he was 14 and when I was 5 (at a pool party) My kid is 5. Said offender would've been there. I forgave him and he has a family of his own, but I don't care. If he ever got near my kid I'd go to prison for aggravated assault with him in the hospital. Pedophilia will never be acceptable. I will not hold back destroying anyone who dares inappropriately touch my kid, because the experience screwed my sense of sexuality up permanently.

i don't care so long a pedophile doesn't act on their thoughts. If they do, then lock them up and melt the key.

There should be research done into how we'd go about treating something like that. If we can find a way to remove the urge from people who think that way, then maybe that would help. Now if it's somebody who acts on those urges and doesn't think it's wrong, then I'd say we should probably put them in a psychiatric facility or something like that.

I think since so many people think it is immoral to allow a kid who doesn't understand themselves to risk pregnancy, it will always be illegal to be with minors. It may cause some people to start dressing and acting much younger to be with those people. I think this already exists and is called a boy/girl fetish.

Eventually we will accept pedophilia as a sexual orientation. Just like homosexuality. It won't happen this year or next, but as we research more into it, we as a society will eventually accept it. it will likely take someone extremely rich and powerful too openly identify themselves as a pedophile. History is cyclical. Ancient Romans and ancient Greeks used to fuck children all the time. It was common practice. Just like homosexuality. Homosexuality was openly accepted in the ancient world. I'm certain the same will happen with pedophilia eventually. Not saying I want this to happen I'm just certain that it will.

You can feel bad for someone without condoning their behavior. Maybe someday we'll have a method of changing this about a person without torturing them and it'll become a routine treatment. But more likely we'll find a way for the to cope with the unwanted feelings without harming anyone. Research will probably move slowly, considering the severe social stigma. But at the end of the day, you can't condone acting on those feelings.

If you're born a pedophile, at some point you're going to learn you're not wired like everyone else. So then you should abstain from your urges and see a therapist. If you end up molesting a child then you should be beaten publicly and and kicked into a well.

I don't think it would really change much of anything, people can be born with a number of psychological conditions that may lead to criminality, but it doesn't grant them the right to commit the crime itself. You might have some sort of better treatment or coping approaches, but I don't think you're going to have a fundamental change in attitude towards people or a softening stance of any kind.
