Don't know much about the dinner scene for that many people, but Sunflower at 16th and Mission is a favorite of mine. Good Vietnamese food, decent prices. But probably not the best joint for this sort of occasion. It's probably too expensive, but Greens has an excellent reputation for vegetarian/vegan foods and might be a good spot. I've always enjoyed going to Twin Peaks after dark. Bring jackets, because it gets very chilly. The view is great and you can just spend time together looking at the city and/or stars, depending on how cloudy it is. I think they close the parking area down around 10:00ish so keep that in mind. Could you ask her for suggestions or ideas?
