Is the uk army and sas training really what it's made out to be in tv shows like ""who dares wins"" and adverts for the army ?

I think the army ads show more of the exciting jumping out of helicopters and less of the cleaning the mess toilet with a toothbrush than would actually be representative. I'm led to believe the SAS training is pretty hardcore though. 40 miles in 20 hours in full battle dress and a rifle sounds like more exercise than I want.
