We always hear about words that don't exist in English, what English words don't exist in other languages?

"Pandering is a word that I have not been able to find in any other language. In Spanish you could use "complacer" (to indulge) to somewhat similar effect, but it's a tad different. I'm told there's no great equivalent in German or Dutch or French. Ubiquitous is a word I've found lacking in several languages. Most romance languages will have a cognate, but not one anyone actually uses. Saying "very common" doesn't convey quite the right thing. In Latin American Spanish, there is no good word for get (the obvious choice actually means to fuck). The phrases that should have "get" are farmed off to a dozen other words, some of which make sense. "

What about anspruchsvoll?
"There's no equivalent of sibling in Dutch. We of course have brother (broer) and sister (zus) but no sibling. Which is strange, considering even in German you can say "Geschwister". "
I'd like to be proven wrong, but I've been wracking my brain and it feels like the Danish language is so warped by default and accepts English words with Danish pronunciation in the blink of an eye that I can't participate here. Sad viking face.
"French has no word for "cheap" (in the sense of "inexpensive"). You have to say "not dear" - "pas cher". Edited to add: you can also say "bon marche", which I guess would translate directly as "good deal". "
"Very few languages have the word "The". I was told this by a Swedish friend who is obsessed with language, and said it was one of the hardest parts of learning English. To quote him: "Seriously, what is the difference between 'chair' and 'the chair'?" Too bad I found this thread too late for this to be noticed, it blows my mind. "
"I have heard that Chinese has no single word that means the same thing as "privacy". "
"There's no word for "random" in german when used in the context: "that was random" "
Spanish does not have a word for awkward OR creepy. They also didn't understand the concept when we tried to describe the words to them.
"Swedish does not have a good word or phrase for "makes sense". It get's really annoying. "
