Time Travels are very popular today, but HG Wells is considered one of the first authors who 'invented' Time Travel in 1895. Was there no one in the 3000 years of modern human civilization who thought about going backward or forword in time?

Think of it this way. If you took Julius Cesar and brought him to the time of Napoleon, what had really changed? It might take Julius a month or so to learn about firearms, but he'd probably seen chemical explosions before, so it wouldn't be mind boggling. The ships were a bit faster, but really not that much different. When you look at it that way, 'time travel' isn't that big a deal. There were always stories where fairies took some shepard or milk maid for a feast and the human came back fifty years later, either grown old or still youthful, depending on the teller. Well, in 1895, could look and see huge changes that were occuring, or had taken place, in his life time. He could talk to scientists and engineers and guess that there would be giant changes over time. That's my take on it.

Mainly of the sort where someone falls asleep for 100 years or so and wakes up still young. Here are some: https://oxplore.org/additional-resource/1002/1014#1014

In Hindu mythology, there is the story of King Raivata Kakudmi who travels to meet the creator Brahma. Even if this trip didn't last long, when Kakudmi returned back to Earth, 108 yugas had passed on Earth, and it is thought that each yuga represents about 4 million years Source: https://www.ancient-origins.net/myths-legends-unexplained-phenomena/time-travel-ancient-mythology-modern-science-001242
