Gamers, why is it a natural instinct to reload after every span of shots?

Tactical management of resources and energy/time during stress heavy situation. This is the same reason a blacksmith will tap the anvil during a non strike period to use the anvil's energy to bounce the hammer back up instead of using his own energy to lift the hammer up. We're naturally lazy creatures that look for opportunities to find a loophole in design for the best outcome with the least amount of energy. In the realworld in no way would you reload a partially used mag, but for games, it's just part of the normal mechanics and have become an automatic and expected part of game play. If that design wasn't part of the game, no one would reload with a partial mag as I'm sure you'll lose the mag and bullets. Basically game designers done fugged up.

since in games throwing away a mag and putting a new one doesn't affect your total number of bullets, might as well keep it full if you have 2 seconds to reload

I cannot tell you how many times I use a couple and that couple costs me a kill when I need two more shots to kill someone and run out.

I always get irritated if its not at max capacity, so thats why I reload even if I still have bullets left

Imagine a game that made you reload the mags with bullets before you load the mag into the gun. Im sure there's a few out there.

"I used to suck, my brother told me "you need to reload" I got better, never stopped since "

Force of habit, also you don't want to be caught with your pants down (half magazine).

I want to be ready to take the next guy on effectively. The only reason I wouldn't do it would be when I'm playing BF1 and I would want to use strips instead of using individual rounds since it takes less time to load that than 4 individual rounds. Ammo is key

Because games generally subtract ammo from a total pool instead of be clip / magazine / whatever. So there's no penalty for reloading early, unlike real weapons. As a result, you want to be at full load prior to the next engagement starting.

I've died more times while reloading than running out of ammo. Still do it. Every time.
