How are you aware of those words but don't know the difference between them??? A paladin is a knight that can cast some healing and support magic. They wear heavy armor and use heavy weapons. A mage wears robes, has almost zero physical attack or defense ability, and relies solely on a wide array of magic.

A mage is like straight magic and a paladin is like a magical knight kinda thing...I think

I believe for most systems, a mage is a spellcaster, while a paladin is more of a holy fighter of sorts (although I don't think they actually need to fight for a god). The paladin may have some spell cast ability, but it seems they are more physical fighters.

A mage has a wider array of spells, including for offense and defense. Paladins focus on healing, defensive and support magic mainly.
