Why Does Everyone Hate On Furry Stuff When We Almost All Grew Up With Looney Tunes, Disney, WB, Which All Had Anthro Characters?

"I think there's a difference in watching a show that has anthropomorphic animal characters, and identifying as/dressing up as an anthropomorphic animal, which is the activity associated with "furry". In the same way its now pretty socially acceptable to watch a super hero movie or even read a comic, but would still be thought of as "nerdy" to dress up as an avenger and go to comic-con. Also, despite the fact that non sexual furry art/activities exist you cannot deny the fact that a large portion of it IS sexualized. To the extent that you could not look up "furries" without encountering it. It may not be an accurate representation of how much of the community sees it as sexual, but its common enough to be associated with that. Also, there's a documentary out there about it (amazon prime I think?) and in spite of having actual furries describe and explain it, the film comes off creepy. "

I believe that when people think of furries they focus on the oversexualization and the animal aspect, which could lead people to relate them to beastiality.

They were cartoons I watched in tv. I didn't dress up as the characters and go to conventions and shit and bang other fans of the show

Because furry artists tend to create stuff that gets fetishized.

My $0.02, at least in part it's because the furries were the popular group to hate on in the 90s, and this bit of internet culture has persisted. There are lots of reasons for this, but none of them very good Furry is pretty benign compared to other groups that tend to find misfits, like the incels. Or a cult.

Not condoning or condemning either side of anything. Just generally curious. I understand that they've been sexualized and stuff which probably has something to do with all the hate but even simple, innocent Furry drawings seem to get so much shit but no one says anything when you talk about bugs bunny, Wiley coyote, etc.
