Are you afraid to eat tuna fish because it might have mercury in it? Why or why not?

Yes, actually. I'm afraid of eating too much salmon for the same reason. I feel like it's all too easy for me to eat a food and repeat eating it because I pretty much eat the same thing over and over because I can remake that recipe. So if I bought tuna and used it in a recipe or two, I would like it and then keep using it. Building my diet around tuna would not be smart in my opinion. Same with salmon or any other fish. As much as fish is healthy, I'm a little scared of it. I'm not educated about it enough to find the proper source.

Make sure your tuna is marine stewardship council (MSC) certified, or has some other reputable certification, and you'll be ok on dolphin bycatch. On Hg, it does accumulate, but you're ok if you aren't eating ituna every day. If you do, then eat albacore tuna (white tuna), which generally has ower Hg, I seem to recall.
