Ask- Whats your body scanner opt out story? Or how do you deal with the new airport security measures?

"In the past year I've flown 4 times. The first 3 I was lucky enough to not have to go through the scanner. Last time... not so much. I said I wasn't going through the machine and made a joke about getting a free handjob instead. The guy didn't think it was very funny. So he yells "OPT OUT!" and about 4 TSA guys gather around me. I swear when he yelled it, others repeated it in a chain. Way to ostracize someone. I was patted down and went on my merry way. It really rattled my nerves though and I really don't want to fly anytime soon because of the anxiety I have thinking about dealing with the TSA. "

If you were a real American, you would quit your job. While I'm happy to know that it's just that easy for you, many other people don't have the luxury of quitting their jobs on a whim b/c some asshole in line thinks it's unamerican.
When they asked me if I wanted to go in the scanner or get a pat down, I went for the pat down. No fuss no muss nonplussed.
Haven't flown in years.
I opt out purely because I don't like the idea of them I mean I know they say they are safe but people used to think that X-ray machines in shoe shops where safe.
I'm opting out of all air travel until the fucking alphabet soups come to their senses. This won't make any impact on any airline, but I've traveled to Europe three times in the past six years. TSA procedures in Atlanta ended my good times. (You have to go through complete TSA security to get OUT of the airport when returning from Europe. Does that make any sense at all? This includes surrendering water you bought INSIDE a secure zone in Paris. Fuck air travel, fuck the TSA, fuck them all.)
"I honestly don't really care if they see me nude through their scanners. I heard they aren't really that effective as people have gotten through with dangerous items (or so I've heard), but it causes me no inconvenience. As a matter of fact, I am usually patted down, so this speeds the process up a bit for me. If you would like to protest it for whatever reasons you have, implying that the TSA agent is not a "real American" is somewhat of an asshole move as they are just doing their job. That is just my opinion, though. "
I actually declined last week. I was ready for the horror stories, but they just called someone over and he gave me a very professional (if thorough) patdown. He explained that he would be using the back of his hands around the groin and butt. All in all, it was a very quick process and I wasnt too offended or inconvenienced. Though I do think that the scanners are a bad idea, and I think they should get rid of all airport security (excepting possibly metal detectors), my experience was not negative.
I always opt out. Screw that. I was at LAX a little while ago and the screener looked like he was about 19. I told him I was opting out, and he asked me if I wanted to go to a private room. I said no. He started doing the pat down, awkwardly, and twice more asked me if I wanted to go to a private room - before he did the backs of my legs and again before he did the fronts of my legs. I didn't want to laugh because I don't want to get shot, but it was pretty hilarious how uncomfortable he was.
