I'm a doctor, hobbies include reading about physics, and drinking booze. High IQ != common sense, in fact, often quite the opposite. I have always been exceptionally good at passing tests, but I constantly do stupid things. My neighbour knocked on my door last night to tell me that my keys were still in the outside of my door, 3 hours after I got home. I find the TV remote in the fridge on a scarily regular basis. I shot off the back of my treadmill a couple of days ago, because I absent mindedly just stopped mid session at a full run...luckily landing on a bed, I put odd shoes on the other day, and would have gone to work like that if it hadn't felt so strange to have one 4 inch stiletto and one kitten heel on. The list goes on and on...and I get even dumber when I'm drunk.

ITT : people aren't as smart as they claim they are because they don't do shit but justify it by thinking they are the exception and that they are just lazy and unmotivated but could do it if they wanted too. Seriously I hate most of the people responding to this thread because they are so blind. Edit : I hope some of these people responding to me are being sarcastic or joking. This is too much. I can't even deal. I went from anger to laughter. Jesus christ

I'm a Nuclear Instrumentation Technician. I fix things at a Nuclear Power Plant, to make it simple. I play a lot of video games, watch sci fi and fantasy stuff, play a lot of roleplaying games, enjoy Dean Koontz novels and the Song of Ice and Fire(Game of Thrones) series, watch almost anything but horror(overactive imagination+powerful mind=no sleep), and my idiot moments typically come from the fact that I am ADD and zone out/do stupid absent minded things. I regularly pull on push doors, for one. =T

I just spent fifteen minutes taking an online IQ test that did not tell me I had to pay for the results until after the test was over. I'm either really dumb for falling for the oldest trick on the web, or a genius because I'm not giving them my credit card number so they can give me the results of a highly unscientific test.

Some quick calculations and the number of responses on this thread reminded me of a cartoon: http://xkcd.com/715/ Bottom right chart...

Psychologist here. Very high IQ scores are hard to measure, the common scales simply are not designed or normed to handle IQs of 150. Rather, they are built so that 95% of people are below 130. Once you get over 145ish, your talking about less than 0.01% of people. So it is seriously unlikely people have scores of 150. Also, the good scales give a range like, 130-140, not a precise value. This is the range in which we can be 95% certain the persons true IQ lies (the 95% confidence interval)
