""It'll be OK, these things are safe, I promise" When I was 15, I was dating a girl whose mother had died in 9/11 who was now living farther outside the city closer to my range. She was flying up to Massachusetts in a little four-seater plane for a wedding with her father and a friend of her fathers (the pilot) and his wife. Just before she left she broke down and refused to get on the plane. She said she didn't feel right and couldn't do it. Her father began to agree to go home, but I thought I could help. I promised her it would be all right, that there was no danger, that it was just like flying in a regular plane and I would be there when she got back. She was the only survivor when it went down. I haven't made any further promise that I don't know I can keep. "

"Little backstory, my father and I both have dyslexia, mines only minor and I've learned to deal with it, and we both have a seriously bad case of A.D.D. so reading was a challenge in our lives. Well, one day at dinner my little sister comes home from visiting my aunt and we get into the subject of reading. well my dad wasn't paying attention up until this point and asked what we were talking about and being a 12 year old smart ass I said, "Oh, that thing you can't do" referring to reading. I apologized immediately seeing the look in my dad's eyes, and still feel bad about it 8 years later. One of those things you just can't really forgive yourself for. "
