What tv show would benefit from being remade in an HBO style drama?

Not a show, but Lord of the Rings. They don't even have to shoot new footage. They can use the extra scenes from the extended editions, and with some editing they can crunch them down into hour to hour and a half episodes. I think it would flow really well. Ep1 Shire to Rivendell - Slow start, climaxes at river. Ep2 Rivendell to end of Moria - Exposition with the ring, ending after Gandalf dies. Ep3 Lothlorian to Boromir's death - Character building in Lorien, maybe more emphasis on Boromir's backstory, making his redemption more poignant. Etc.
