What are some examples of a business you were employed through that straight up ripped people off?

I was not employed by this company, because of their business model, it is basically an insurance company that preys on the elderly trying to screw them out of their fixed income in order to pay for policies they don't need and can't really afford. During my interview I also learned that I had a small amount of money invested in the parent company. After seeing boots on the ground I quickly sold that investment. Wasn't much but it belonged in something I could be proud of.

Car dealership. Auto auctions are cheap! Trade in value is low. You are paying 4x what they invested and you don't fight very hard to be screwed over.

Transmission shop I worked for that shut down now (Not surprising). He required a 70% profit margin on every work order. I actually quit because of how bad he used to fuck people.

Ouch. I worked for a few different theme parks (roller-coasters, games of chance, FAR too many food service areas) that were vicious to their customers. Like the games literally taking 100s if not 1000s of dollars to win a big prize. I mad sure some of those customers won prizes anyways. YES, I was a bad employee, but I couldn't face ripping off all those customers day in and day out.

Worked in a soap factory straight outta high school for a temp service. They made from the cheapest to the high end stuff. They had these bars that were for Dillard's and they had price tags on the boxes we had to put them in... they were $12.99/ bar. I swear we used the exact same soap for the facial soap, hand soap, acne soap and bath soap.

A healthcare company I used to work for. They would charge patients $1000's of dollars for labs that would cost $40-$50. It was hell for anybody paying out of pocket. They finally went bankrupt when the insurance companies refused to pay the exorbitant rates.
