"if you're practicing for a speech or just talking with a close friend have a friend make a buzzer sound any time you use "like", "So", "ummm", or "uh" out of the context of the sentence. Trust me you learn to stop saying those pretty quickly. My government teacher had students do this during in-class mock presidential debates "

Read really articulate books, watch intellectual movies, surround yourself with what you want to be. Practice writing that way.

Learn other languages understanding how language works will help you understand your own language better do this in conjunction with reading classic literature or experimental literature. The more you read with an appreciation of how language functions, the more it should bleed into your subtle experience.
