"Trinidadian checking in. In our country its custom to have rum, scotch and chasers on hand at all times in case family or friends come over. It doesn't matter if your Aunty is coming by to drop off some food for your mom who is sick in bed with the cold. In social setting, the rum drinkers stick to shots with chasers while the scotch drinkers would mix with Ginger Ale or fresh coconut water (AMAZING). Also, we drink ALOT (in volume). When my "group", which consist of me, my husband, mom, her husband, 3 cousins and thier S/O's, get together we usually finish 2 half-gallons of Bacardi and one half-gallon of J. Walker black. My family has been buying Jagermeister recently for shots, we usually do 2-3 of those as a group, but thats only if we are partying, not just liming (hanging out) Thats also not including the beer. In Trinidad we have three main beers, Stag, Carib and Heineken which may or may not be used as a chaser. "

"Bulgarian checking in here. Serbian dude already covered most of the vital points. National drink - rakia. Almost always to go with a green salad and deli meats. Less than half a bottle - you're no good, might not even get invited the next time over. A bottle (750ml.) - you're OK, as long as you agree with the political views of the host. More than a bottle usually involves sitting down before 12 at noon and carryin on until the wee hours. If you have something important to do the next day it is acceptable to switch to beer after half a bottle. Almost invariably you become BFFs with everyone there and EVERYONE becomes a sort of uber-patriot, all the while lamenting the economic situation in the country and saying how "we're never catching up to the americans". "In America, we go to a really loud overcrowded party or club and drink until we blackout and then wake up in a jail cell because we are "only" 20 years old. "

I'm a Filipino-American that spent four months in the Philippines last year. Tagay! Strangest thing I experienced about drinking in the Philippines was putting ice beer. It made sense after a while, being as it's always 80 degrees over there. Man, I miss that country.

"Northern Germany here and our favorite toast is "Nich lang schnacken, Kopp in Nacken" which means "Don't babble, put your head back!". We don't like to talk much. In Northern Germany we are very reserved and polite. Everyone is the strong and silent kind. Also unlike the little thieving mountain people in the south (Bavarians) a true Hanseat is bound by his word, no matter how drunk he was when he gave it. "
