Barbers, what terms should everyone know to make it easier to explain their haircuts?

"I am a barber and cosmetologist, bring photos! Bring multiple photos if there are things you like specifically about each. As far as terminology, you don't need to know the correct terms or what they mean, it's our job to have a proper consultation with you and explain what we are talking about and understand exactly what you are looking to achieve with your style. But, I will warn, if you just come in and say, "I want a trim", that is the hardest request for us to complete. Do you want the top and sides trimmed? Just the back? Do you want it significantly shorter or your current haircut cleaned up/maintained? Overall, bring photos and be open to a conversation about what you like in the photo and concerns, if any, you have. Hopefully this helps! "

if a short buzz cut with longer on top is a basic fade. explain it this way. ( A fade 1 to 2 on the sides, and finger length on top.
"I'm not a barber but something that helped me was knowing the clipper sizes. That way I can just tell them "I want a #1" or whatever. "
I say 'take a number 2 to the back and sides and cut off half the top. Feather the bevel but keep it spicy. . Rough it up and style it clockwise. Sink the brows and switch up the edging pattern before trimming the burns and dodging the neckline. You keep the dregs but yes I will have a chamomile tea, thank you.'
Also Barbers, how can i ask a Leon S. Kennedy haircut(from the remake) in your words? I had it done great once and no one could ever do it again :(
"As a barber, I can say that you want to be careful when using specific "hairstyle terms" you would be surprised at the amount of interpretations and variation a "mowhawk" can take on. The best thing to do is bring a picture. After that you can learn what number guard you like on the sides and whether you want the sides to blend into the top. "
Not a barber myself but hear so many people say can you do it around (enter unit of measure) it'd be so much easier if people know size equivalents in hair cutting
You're all Matt Leblanc, it's the year 1997, and you're getting a CAESAR
"I always go "clip 2/3 on the sides, short scissors on top" the guy does the sides, and when he goes to the top always does some kind of measure and asks if its enough, I say yes, when he finishes I put my hand on my hair if I think its to long ask for shorter "
My barber says a lot of people don't understand the difference between a fade and a taper. I'm just gonna copy the explanation between the two from Google: A taper is when hair gradually changes from one length to another. A fade is a shorter taper that blends or fades into the skin. Edit: just in case this somehow isn't already clear, I'm just repeating a common problem my barber has mentioned. I am not a barber. stop asking me questions about other haircuts. Ask a fucking barber.
