The fusion taking place in the core of the sun is actually not that power-dense. One cubic meter of the incredibly hot and dense solar core only produces about 275 Watts of energy. You could fit two or three humans in the same space, and generate more heat from the waste heat of their bodies. It just goes to show how difficult a proposition it would be for us to make a useful fusion reactor here on earth. At least for plain old proton-proton fusion, it's just impossibly inefficient. (Which is why fusion experiments use deuterium, tritium, and other more exotic stuff) Now, of course, that glob of solar core generates 275 watts continuously for billions of years and the sun has a stupidly huge number of cubic meters of the stuff. That's why, with each of those pumping out that energy continuously, the sun burns with the firey passion of a million.... er, well, of just one sun. But that's still pretty hot. As far as energy density, though, your backyard barbecue is way bette

There are roughly Pi * 107 seconds in a year.
I know I'm way late, but I always liked this explanation of the difference between a million and a billion: One million seconds is eleven and a half days.. One billion seconds is 31 and a half years.
The lubricant in your knees is one of the slipperiest substances known.
Human sweat is orderless. However bacteria eat it and the waste is what smells.
The concept of a googolplex. A googol is ten to the hundredth power(10100). A googolplex is ten to the googol power (1010100). There is literally not a googolplex of things possible. There are 1.25 googols of atoms in the universe, including dark matter. If the universe was filled with electrons, there would not be a googolplex of them. It would take a couple weeks to count to one million and around 32 years to count to a billion. Those are not even to the tenth power. You literally(and not teenager literally, but actual definition of the word literally) can not type out a googolplex. This has kept me up at night multiple times.
Electronic conductivity in a semiconductor is one of the properties that can vary over the widest range (9-10 orders of magnitude!). While pure semiconductors can be near perfect electrical insulators, with just a few percent of the atoms replaced with a dopant (Phosphorus is a dopant in Silicon) can make the material very close to a metal.

12345679 x (multiple of 9) = repeating digits of the multiplier. Ex: 12345679 x 45 = 555555555 Edit: Thanks everyone for all of the other cool examples with 9's. I didn't know 9's were so intriguing!
