The Zune Player. Microsoft's answer to the iPod. It had a very small crowd of people hyped up. People got fucking tattoos of the logo. I had one solely because I hate iTunes. It worked really well. No complaints. Had a really cool feature that if you were near another Zune you could listen in to what they were playing. Not once in my 5 years of using it did I ever get close enough to another Zune to use that feature. Nor did I meet anyone who used one. I still used the Zune software up until windows 10. It was the best music library software I have ever seen.

HD DVD, I'm glad I convinced my parents to get a blu-ray player back when they were competing.

Laserdisc. The technology was really damn impressive too. Nearly on par video quality with DVD, and better audio, available in the late '70s.

Onlive (a cloud gaming alternative to steam), used to be advertised so heavily but it turned out that no one plays it because it was a lag fest since it was built on cloud gaming. Probably will prevail in the next decade but it was announced too early to do anything.
