Keep your nose clean. A little respect goes a long ways. When you turn yourself in wear two pairs of under wear and socks. Long underwear if its winter. Make sure your underwear is white or they will take it away from you.If you wear a large ask for XL so you can pull your arms in if you get cold. Don't share too much about yourself. Be prepared to defend yourself. No CO will rush to help you so don't punk out but don't kill him either. If you walk up to your bed and see a twinkie or candy bar or any treat, don't eat it because the owner will return asking for it and you will not like the re-payment plan he has in mind. Don't miss any meals. Hopefully have someone replenishing your inmate $ account. Do your time, don't let the time do you. And remember it's nice to be nice. If you think your'e a bad ass you won't be for very long.

do not try to get into a fight with the tough guy. just act friendly and you won't get beat up. most people don't want to fight they just want to serve their time. if you do try to beat up the tough guy either they are really a softie or you will get your ass kicked pretty badly. Just serve your time and don't pick fights because you will be beat up if you do.
