You can probably remove it with acetone. If you do work in any sort of research lab on campus, you can ask your PI if you can have acetone from the lab, otherwise just go to the store and buy some nail polish remover and use that.

Honestly if it were me I'd rip it off best I could with a putty knife and leave it at that. Building mangement will spackle it, sand it, and touch up the paint. I bet they will bill you $100 or something split between your roomates. It sucks but how much are you going to spend buying various type of sandpaper, solvents, spackle, and tools? You run the risk of screwing it up even more and having to replace the whole door or something. My last dorm room I moved out and we didnt clean it up very well. They charged us for a cleaning and it was about $50-75 bucks added to our next semesters bill. All in all when you take into account the cost of cleaning supplies, tracking down mops & brooms, and our time at the end of the semester I think it was a pretty good deal. TL:DR Rip that shit off the door and leave it so res life doesnt think your room is a crime scene. You might make things worse if you try some crazy DIY fix and end up paying more.
