What are some healthy coping mechanisms that can be used instead of self harm or other damaging/negative behaviours?

So self harm is a mechanism used to hurt yourself, in order to give your physical pain dominance over the chaos and pain within. People also do it because the pain makes you numb and things seem to become less significant for a few moments (speaking from experience, all of this). However, I have learnt that working out and going hard at the gym or in any sport or exercise is a much better alternative. That way, you're hurting yourself too (muscle tear and muscle ache) but you're constantly healing yourself and becoming stronger. Endorphin release also makes you feel better about yourself, and oxytocin release makes you feel like the world is safer. I've lost over 15kg in the last 4 months by eating healthy and working out instead of cutting. I still do punch walls and have damaged my knuckles, but they heal. It sucks to be in such a place, but you're stronger than you think you are. You're larger than the problem, so don't make the problem seem bigger than you. Good luck

Honnestly it seems like realising that it doesnt realy matter because we're all gonna die and be forgotten anyway so why care works
This might be an uncommon answer, but it worked for me. Ripping paper. Just plain sheets of paper. Whenever i feel like i'm about to harm myself, i pull out a notebook and rip as many pages as i want and throw them around the room. It helps me calm down. Counting also works for me. When i'm about to self harm, i sit down on my bed and count, so i can distract myself.
Boxing can be really good for relieving yourself of anxiety or depression
Distractions like helping others in some way, like a job. Cooking meals for yourself that are actually good for you. Try making music someway, either with an instrument, your own voice, or even a computer problem if you have one (I found a free one called Muse 3. Good for recreational use). Maybe have a hot bath/shower, or go to a spa every now and then. If none of that works, and you still feel the need to be hurt, maybe consider getting a dom? Not sure how one would go about doing that, but it's a way to get hurt safely. Any reason to live is good enough, because it lets you find a great reason later on. Don't give up looking for the great reason.
Use video games as eacapism, helped me a lot but now I have thousands of hours in a few games.. umm..
I suggest competing with friends on a team, in a way that is close to free as possible. An hour or two of a video game per day helps me relax. I am a specialist in Client relations and deal with yelling customers all day. I play league of legends, really helps me out as it is a team work game. Honestly any type of game that involves team work and friends helps me relax. This works for because I love team work and competition, also it's 100% skill based. No pay to win crap.
I went through a pretty shitty breakup about this time 2 years ago and after about 2 weeks of being a sad, shitty lump, I started going to the gym (much more frequently). I went from every once in a while to 6x/week and I got into some of the best shape of my life (so far). It was a fantastic way to let the anger or work the sadness out. Nothing is worth hurting yourself or letting yourself spiral out of control. Humans are strong and you can overcome anything thrown your way
Workouts, in particular boxing exercises. Basically: Run, lift weights, go at the heavy bag. Mix these up in a daily hour long set and you will be exhausted, but in a good way. I have not found a better stress release and negative energy outlet than the heavy bag. A few weeks of that and you will feel healthier in body and mind.
