How could you have convinced Macbeth to not kill Duncan?

I think I did a project on this back in School but idk if Macbeth would have really estopped in anyway, he was pretty easily convinced to kill Duncan, but I would say he would get more benifits of being close to the king and gaining honor to become the king, rather than getting a evil reputation or being a murderous brute.

Try and seduce him. Convince Macbeth that im better than his crazy bitch wife. Its gonna be hard considering he's a catholic in the medieval era.
