I've sat in on a few hiring processes before, and honestly, the biggest red flag is always when someone acts like they know everything. I once interviewed a guy who kept correcting me on technical specs while I was trying to explain the workflow. Even if he was technically right on a few points, his attitude was just way too arrogant. You can teach someone how to fix a machine, but it's pretty much impossible to teach someone how to be humble and a decent person to work with.

Another thing that kills it for me is when people clearly haven't looked into what we actually do. If you show up for an interview and can't explain why you want to be there beyond "I need a paycheck," it’s a total pass. I want to see that you've got some drive or at least some genuine interest in the gear we're using. If you aren't curious about the job, you aren't gonna be motivated when things get busy or go wrong.

Also, don't underestimate the "vibe check." If you're constantly checking your watch or just giving one-word answers, it feels like you'd rather be anywhere else. I need to know that I can rely on someone when we're in the middle of a tight deadline. If you seem checked out during the first twenty minutes, that says a lot about how you're gonna handle the actual work.
