I used to made a lot of scramble of think When I feel bad, anxious or even when I feel good, I wrote that on my phone, explaining my feeling it's about thinking about what's wrong and understanding what make you feel bad One time, after a really bad love story, I was in my bed, cannot sleep for more than five hours feeling bad, and with thought repeat in my head, I've written for like two hours, I ended up in my bed, feeling bad, but I've nothing more to think about the situation, I've have my answers And by doing this, and reading back your old SOT, you take a step back, and see that the situation wasn't as bad a you've felt And this is one of the point of doing this, take a step back, you're controlled by your emotions, when you feel bad this is temporary, everything good as long as you keep breathing, so calm your mind, bad will pass TLDR: Write your through, you'll have nothing to think after that

Interesting question. I am OCD, so I have thousands of nasty intrusive thoughts a day. Fucking sucks dude. But you have 2 options. You can internalize your thought as being real... it isn't, its just electrical activity in your brain. But you can treat it like its real and let it drag you to the bottom of the ocean. Or, you can see your mind as a snowy hill, and as more thoughts pass (think of this as kids sledding down the hill) they leave tracks, and you form thought habits. Separate yourself from your thoughts. See them as separate from you. They aren't real. You're not as horrible a person as you think you are. You're just stuck in a bad habit. Break the habit.

Here's how I sometimes deal with intrusive thoughts. It's unorthodox, but it works for me. You know how in the opening to The Joy if Painting, Bob Ross has that giant paintbrush he uses to paint up a scene? I imagine Bob Ross in my head painting over the intrusive thought with something more productive. I get a chuckle out of it and move on. I've included a link to the scene I'm referring to. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JpNHIVi3t3k

Relax yourself and do something worthwhile.

I don't usually get nasty thoughts and if so, work tends to get rid of them.

I just assume most people have them so brush it off, no one will ever know unless I tell them so I don't care.

I just let them happen, really. I've been doing ketamine therapy so they're very rare now, but I used to have dozens of thoughts, minimum each day, imagining elaborate suicides (like, a big wrecking ball or similar just obliterating my skull, or throwing myself chest first onto a big spike.) They happen, usually when I'm stressed but often just any old time. They didn't bother me much in themselves, and the other symptoms of anxiety were a lot more irritating and consequential as they prevented me from getting things done.
