What is happening at Fort Hood in Texas?

Fort Hood, which is now officially known as Fort Cavazos, has been through a lot of changes over the last few years. It was a pretty big deal when they finally renamed the place back in 2023. Most of the guys I talk to around here still call it Fort Hood out of habit, but the military has been really pushing to clean up the base's reputation after all those scandals regarding safety and leadership failures that came to light a while back.

Things have been a lot quieter lately, at least from what I hear. They've put in a ton of work to overhaul how they handle reports of harassment and violence. It feels like they're trying to shift the culture there to be more accountable, which was definitely needed. It's a huge post, so you still hear stories here and there, but it’s nowhere near the mess it was a few years ago. Hopefully, the changes they made are actually sticking and making life better for the soldiers stationed there.
