Married men : what was that dumb thing you did during your dating phase that you can't believe your wife ended up overlooking?

Back when I was dating my wife, I once tried to impress her by cooking a fancy dinner. I somehow got it in my head that adding a massive amount of hot sauce to the pasta sauce would make it "gourmet." I didn't even taste it before serving. She sat there, eyes watering and face turning bright red, just trying to be polite while I sat across from her thinking I was a master chef. Honestly, looking back, I have no idea why she didn't just walk out right then and there.

Another time, I completely forgot our six-month anniversary. I panicked when I saw her at the door, so I grabbed a plastic flower from a neighbor's yard on my way over. I tried to pass it off as something I picked up from a shop, but the dirt on the stem kind of gave it away. She just sighed, laughed it off, and we ended up getting pizza. I still feel like a complete idiot when I think about it, but she just has way more patience than I deserve.
