Go to the Saint Francis hotel on Union Square and take a quick ride to the top in one of their glass elevators for an amazing view. Visit Tartine Bakery for fresh pastries. Get lunch or dinner at one of the places at the Ferry Building, or check out the Farmer's Market there on a Tues, Thurs or Sat. If the weather gets better, get a bike and ride over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito. You can stop in at Cavallo Point's Farley Bar for a refresher snack or drink. Or just take the ferry to Sausalito and splurge at Sushi Ran if you are into sushi. Lastly, if you want an interesting spa experience, Kabuki Springs has a sauna, steam room, and hot pools to lounge in. It's rather zen, and choose your day wisely as some days you will be amongst the nakeds. I hope you enjoy your stay!

Don't waste your time at Fisherman's Wharf. Take a cab across the Golden Gate Bridge and walk back across. Find the Filbert Steps and the wild parrots near Coit Tower (ask a local for directions). Take a stroll through Golden Gate Park and check out the Academy of Arts & Sciences there.

You might want to visit the Ghirardelli Chocolate company. At the bottom of this Wikipedia page on Ghirardelli is a list of attractions in San Francisco.

the King Tut exhibit is at the de Young museum in Golden Gate Park. also nearby in the park is the California Academy of Sciences. I'm hoping to see both of those myself in the not-too-distant future. oh, and also right down from the de Young in the park is the Japanese Tea Garden.

"Look up the "New Asia" restaurant in Chinatown. I think it's on stockton and pacific. It's a great Dim-Sum palace that's cheap. Don't let the reviews fool you. The place is great. The only people who gave poor reviews were people who don't know how Dim Sum operates. "

Also, Chinatown in SF is getting more expensive and tourist-run. Go to the chinatown that's being created by people moving over to Oakland. I had some of the best dim sum of my life there for a total of $12.
