Russians, and Germans, how do you feel about constantly being portrayed as the ""bad guys"" in movies, and T.V?
Honestly, it gets pretty old seeing the same tropes over and over again. Like, I spend most of my time working on sites and dealing with real people, and it’s just weird how movies keep pushing these tired stereotypes. Whether it's the cold, calculated Russian or the rigid German guy, it feels like lazy writing more than anything else. Most people I know, regardless of where they are from, are just trying to get through the day, pay their bills, and live their lives.
I guess Hollywood just loves an easy villain, right? It’s simple to make someone the bad guy if you give them an accent or set the story in a specific place. It doesn't really bother me on a deep level, but it is annoying when you see someone talented just stuck playing the same one-dimensional role for years. It’d be nice if writers could come up with something fresh instead of rehashing the same old stuff from decades ago.
