Man, autopilot is a dangerous game. One time I was standing right in front of the fridge with a carton of milk in one hand and my phone in the other. I was so zoned out that I ended up tossing my phone into the trash bin and trying to put the milk carton in my pocket. I only realized it when I felt the cold liquid soaking through my jeans. Felt like a total idiot standing there in my kitchen.
Another time, I was leaving for work and managed to lock the front door, but then I spent a solid five minutes trying to unlock my car door with my house key. I was honestly getting so frustrated that it wouldn't turn, thinking the lock was jammed or something. It wasn't until a neighbor walked by and gave me this weird look that I finally snapped out of it and realized what I was doing. Guess we all have those days where the brain just decides to take a coffee break without telling us.

Oh man, I've had plenty of those moments. The worst one was probably last week when I was super tired after a long shift. I walked all the way to the kitchen, opened the fridge, took out the milk, and then proceeded to throw my car keys into the trash bin while staring right at the milk carton. I didn't even notice until I was halfway out the door ten minutes later, frantically searching for my keys while wondering why they weren't in my pocket.
Another classic brain-fart happened when I was trying to make coffee. I put the filter in, added the grounds, and then poured the water directly into the mug instead of the machine's reservoir. I stood there for a solid minute waiting for the coffee to start dripping, wondering why the machine was being so quiet. It’s honestly embarrassing how much my brain just decides to go on vacation sometimes.
