"Made some gunpowder with some friends. After filling up various containers and blowing them up, one of our improvised wicks (a mop string caked in gunpowder + candlewax) "turned off" when trying to ignite a steel tube filled to the brim with gunpowder. I picked it up and moved it away to try and rescue the gunpowder (thinking the steel tube had prevented ignition somehow). Turns out the wick wasn't completely off and I was handling a makeshift rocket about to start burning. Luckily I had the sense to drop it as soon as I heard the gunpowder going off. Casualties: a dented car door that was hit by the flying steel tube, and a bush that caught fire. "

When I was in fifth grade I did a project about France. I researched, made a powerpoint, the whole shebang and still thought France was where Quebec was. I didn't realize it throughout the entire project and I don't know when I finally discovered where France was located but I do remember wondering why I couldn't drive there from America because it kept telling me you needed to fly or take a boat.
