Sell the car, even if you take a big hit. The fact is you aren't paying rent, you should be raking in the cash. Use the cash you get from selling the car to buy a cheap car so your wife can drive to work, save $1,000 from the car sale, spend the rest on paying back the car loan. Whether you can pay it back in one lump sum, or just pay $375 per month on the loan. You will still have money owing on the car and you will have to pay it back, but atleast now your wife will be able to work and you will get an income. Since you're living on food stamps even a few hours a week work for your wife will make a difference. As for the mold, how bad is it? Would you be able to clean it yourself? Maybe buy a dehumidifier (from the left over cash from selling the car) to keep the moisture down? Even if you have one room mold free your kids could sleep in there until you clean the mold elsewhere.

You could always apply for ABC's Extreme Home Makeover. The families they help seem similar to yours.
Searcy is a pretty religious town. Do you go to church? I'm an atheist myself (and I live in Arkansas - crazy, right?) but I think you should start going. Hopefully they'll actually be christ-like as well as christians and help you out where they can. Also, it's good for networking. Somebody would probably be more than happy to at least help you out with your car situation.
I'm sorry to say, but sadly only I can give is internet hugs. It will get better.
How much do the tags cost? What is the medium-sized city you are near? Harrison? Mountain Home? Sorry if this is too personal a question, but I'd be willing to help out a neighbor.
I know i'm no help as I live in the uk. All I can say is try and ride it out with your family and stay together.
I am absolutely NOT begging for money! nowhere did I ask for a handout and the one offer of assistance I received I quickly refused. If you are going to insult me, have the guts to do it publicly. A lost a lot of sympathy right here. The least you could do is swallow your goddamn pride enough to know that an offer of assistance isn't an insult.
The car is operable, right? Are you not driving it to avoid the possibility of a ticket?
You might try calling this show. Clark is a good man and very smart. You can also contact his Consumer Action Center, which you are more likely to get help from than actually getting in on his show.
