Home cooks who consistently use the larger cookware when it's not necessary (i.e. a gallon pot when a 2 qt pot will do), why?

"It makes stirring and/or flipping easier. Some foods will cook faster because it is spread out over a larger surface area. What if your small meal accidentally turns into enough to feed half the country? There are "favorite" pots and pans. Just like them better, regardless of the size. "

It's all I got man and sometimes I cook for more than just me.
It's a comfort zone thing. I feel like I've done really well with certain pots and pans, so I continue to use them out of habit.
It's not the capacity that I use it for, it's the thickness. The bigger the pan, usually the thicker the bottom. Much easier to control the heat with a thick bottom. Also it helps you cook.
Using a bigger pot is actually more efficient as the base of the pot completely covers the gas hob and therefore does not waste as much heat up the side of the pot.
I really hate when the pot boils over.
So when we stir the thing we cooking we don't spill it everywhere
