Gandhara was a region that encompassed parts of present-day Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. It flourished between the 1st century BCE and the 4th century CE. The Gandhara school of art is sometimes referred to as Greco-Roman because it blended aspects of Greek and Roman art with Buddhist ideology.
