There are two categories of countries whose citizens don’t necessarily need a visa to visit Canada:

Visa-exempt countries: Citizens of these countries can visit Canada for up to six months without a visa. However, they still need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before they travel, unless they are exempt from the eTA requirement as well. Here’s a list of visa-exempt countries:

Visa-required countries: Citizens of countries not on the visa-exempt list will need to apply for a visa to visit Canada. The type of visa required will depend on the purpose of their visit.
