At the risk of serious TMI/ NSFL: a six centimeter Bartholin's Abscess blowing up in the course of 24 hours. Couldn't stand up, couldn't sit down, couldn't sleep, the only thing to do was lie prone on my back on a mattress and whimper quietly. Two trips to ER later, and one of two times in my adult life I've broken down sobbing from sheer unrelenting pain, I wound up in emergency surgery at 4 am, then spent two and half weeks in intensive care on morphine and heavy duty IV antibiotics. Having the packing removed from the irrigated wound was even more acute - I was on a straight morphine drip but I still screamed and nearly left finger imprints in the bedrails. I felt bad for the poor nurse. Having a Foley Catheter inserted into a full bladder was no picnic either... There aren't words in English to describe that feeling.

I have panic disorder.
