Omega Boost and Brave Fencer Musashi are somewhere in my personal top 10. The former was an amazing mech shoot-em-up that was very ahead of its time (kickass OT too) and the other was one of the most charming, fun, and unique adventure games I’ve ever played. Tons of variety in game play and a great story. Too bad the sequel didn’t hold up. Edit: Gungrave Overdose popped into my head just now and it was also a super silly and fun shooter. The graphics did not age well at all though.
Kid Dracula (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kid_Dracula_(1993_video_game))
KKND (Krush, kill n destroy) and KKND crossfire. RTS games set in a post apocalyptic future with survivors, mutated humans and farm robots that had evolved.
Tiny Tank on PS1. I played the hell out of that game as a kid. I want it to get remastered one day, similar to Crash and Spyro(but sadly its probably not popular enough).
Panel de Pon. It was changed and localized outside Japan as Tetris Attack but I love the little fairy characters in the original
Total Annihilation. It’s a futuristic Real Time Strategy base building game along the lines of Red Alert or StarCraft, but with many unique elements. It’s really well executed and just fun as hell in many ways you’ve probably never experienced with any other game.
Flatout/Flatout 2.It was a racing game filled with destruction and amazing graphics for that time.
Kingdom under fire. There were a few, and I don’t remember which one I loved. Basically it was a console RTS, you’d move around platoons of archers and knights and whatever, then when you got your main group into battle it would turn into a hack and slash. Dunno, it was kind of wonky but it was a super good idea. Campaign was fun, but it really shined in multiplayer
007 Agent Under Fire. Spent hours playing multiplayer with my friends and beating the single player. It was the Goldeneye of my generation.
My brother and I were obsessed with this game called Claw. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claw_(video_game) I don’t know how unknown in general it was, but we both found that any time we talked about it at school we were met with blank expressions.
