Due to the shelling of the Germans and the confusion of orders they all ended up charging. 10’s of thousands died, resulting in the biggest military defeat for the British ever. I love my country, but we have a bad tendency of when we don’t know what to do, just charge at them. ( too much pride which ends up being our downfall. Double edged sword )
