I passed a cop in a marked car while doing 110 at 2AM at the age of 17, in a 50 mph zone. I was racing my curfew home, and his car was marked on the sides but not the rear, and had no light rack on it, so I just passed when he got on the highway doing 55ish. When he pulled me over, I freaked out. I ran through what I needed, and grabbed my registration from the glove compartment. So they just pulled over somebody doing 110 at 2AM on a Sunday, and the first thing he does on this long, abandoned stretch of highway is go for something in his glove compartment. Needless to say, they opened my passenger door, with one cop standing back with his weapon drawn, covering the other, who blinded me with a Maglite. They were so relieved when they saw it was just some terrified kid that they let me go with a warning.
I was late driving to work one day and I always pass thru a playground zone on my way. Usually I pass thru the playground zone before it is in effect so I don’t have to reduce my speed. However today I was late and I totally forgot about slowing down since I was so used to leaving before the rule comes into effect. As I am passing thru the zone, I see a cop setting up photoradar on the intersection. Immediately I remember how I have to slow down, but by then it’s too late. I make eye contact with him as I pass him as he is setting up the tripod. Could have been a day ruiner.
