Probably use the manpower and resources to start building tons of homes to basically end homelessness and implement some sort of guaranteed universal income assuming that this unlimited money somehow doesn’t affect inflation

You phrased it as if the police were included in the disarming. What would it accomplish in removing only the military? The police cant support allies overseas (although keeping your military out of forgin nations affairs is a sound idea) abolishing the army isnt safe though. now downsizing would make more sense as other nations wont see you as a target they can take advantage of but your not expending unneeded resources in peace time.
